Association management companies, or AMCs, are for-profit businesses that manage associations to help them grow and prosper. AMCs bring the expertise, staffing, and resources to effectively manage day-to-day operations of professional societies, trade groups, not-for-profits, and philanthropic organizations—allowing their leadership to focus on long-term goals that will increase their value and relevance to their members.

Associations may look to AMCs for full-service association management to handle all of the day-to-day operations of the association: governance, membership, meetings, marketing, finances, and more. Alternatively, some stand-alone or volunteer-run organizations may only wish to outsource one or two program areas, such as their meetings, financial management, marketing, or social media.

AMCi Accreditation

 

AMCs who maintain AMCi accreditation have adopted a Standard of Good Practices for the association management Industry, developed by the AMCi with guidance from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
